Welcome
Shrestha Lab at the University of Connecticut develops, optimizes, and implements digital health interventions (DHIs) to improve health outcomes among underserved populations in the United States and globally.
Our work sits at the intersection of HIV prevention and treatment, substance use, harm reduction, mental health, smoking cessation, sexual and gender minority health, and global health equity.
We use smartphone-based platforms, ecological momentary assessment, wearable technologies, just-in-time adaptive interventions, multiphase optimization strategy, micro-randomized trials, machine learning, AI-enabled tools, and implementation science to design interventions that are responsive to real-world needs.
Our research programs include work across the United States, Malaysia, Nepal, Vietnam, and other international settings, with collaborations spanning academic institutions, community organizations, healthcare systems, and industry partners.
